Hi, I’m Jim.

Originally from California, I’ve lived all over the country thanks to work, but one thing has always remained constant: I love working with my hands. Whether it was fixing up our family home, building projects with my sons when they were young, or spending time outdoors, hands-on work has always been my happy place.

In late 2019, I moved to Colorado and soon faced one of the toughest challenges of my life—battling tonsillar cancer during the height of the COVID pandemic. That experience pushed me to slow down and rediscover the things that brought me joy.

I decided to take a few woodworking classes and found myself especially drawn to pen making. My first pens were deeply personal—crafted using wood from one of my mother’s old chairs and inspired by my father’s love of trains. That’s when I knew I had found something special.

Since then, woodworking—especially pen making—has become more than just a hobby. It’s a source of fulfillment and creativity. I now spend my free time in my workshop crafting hand-made pens and small woodworking pieces, each one unique and made with care.
